One of my clients, Revel@Conway, hosted a benefit concert for The Bethlehem House in Conway, AR Saturday night. Bethlehem House is a Christian Transitional Shelter for those that are homeless. They like to say they don’t give a hand out, but a “hand up.”
It was a great time with some really good music by local bands from the area. The genres ranged from ballet (Blackbird Academy), to rock, alternative rock, folksy and southern rock. The concert was free, but fans were asked to donate, however, there were also a chance to win an ipad or fans could purchase hats, t-shirts, snacks and bracelets.
Certainly I would’ve loved to have seen a thousands of people at the concert, but we had a good showing and it raised awareness for the needs at the Bethlehem House. The organization is located in a 100 year old house that is literally beginning to fall in. This great organization needs a new facility and they already have the land. The concert essentially jump-started the need for the Bethlehem House.
I enjoyed going to the show and seeing all the bands and knowing they donated their time to entertain the crowd to help a good cause. I was proud to be a part of the concert working with Kari Huskey, publisher of Revel@Conway, Judi Lively, Executive Director of the Bethlehem House and so many others who volunteered to make this happen. I am excited to see the journey that the community will be on as we help the Bethlehem House raise the money needed for their new facility.
You can still purchase the t-shirts or give to the Bethlehem House at their website or by stopping by or simply giving them a call (501-329-4862).
